The ultimate in sweet opulence. And it lasts forever. Relax while you nourish and hydrate skin with the help of honey crystals to rejuvenate skin and exfoliate dead skin cells.
When you think of beauty tips, do you think of the sweet stuff? I know that I love a good chocolate facial, just for starters. And then there are the sugar scrubs, the spice wraps and the vanilla steams.
But all that stuff is expensive. My last holiday spa visit cost me over 150 dollars, and I did not even get a full massage! Fortunately, there are a lot of ways to give yourself the same sweet treatments at home. The basis for these delectable facials and masques? Honey , of course.
Here are just a few home-uses for honey that will have you feeling absolutely luscious in no time:
Honey Do Beauty Tip #1: Be bubblicious.
A cup of honey in your bubble bath leaves skin feeling soft and smooth. Exfoliate with a loofah while you’re in there for extra creamy, glowing skin. Add 4 tablespoons of whole milk powder and feel just like Cleopatra, who used milk bathes to keep her skin clear. Of course, any time you bathe in any edible product, be sure to rinse down extra well afterwards.
Honey Do Beauty Tip #2: Layer it on.
Make an egg white masque by whipping egg whites, a tablespoon of honey and a little flour or unsweetened cocoa together to make a thick paste. Heat your skin with a hot cloth for 3 minutes to open up your pores. Then smooth the mask on. Let it sit for 10 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water and admire your fresh, youthful skin.
Honey Do Beauty Tip #3: Make your own silky-skin toner.
Place a half cup of honey, 2 cups of buttermilk and a half cup of rosewater in an air-tight container. A Tupperware with a screw-on lid works great. Shake up the mixture until it is thoroughly blended. It will be runny and a cloudy color. You can apply it with a cotton ball for tight, toned skin.
You should use the best honey for these treatments. For less than 20 dollars, you can get a good-sized jar of organic honey that has not been treated with chemicals or preservatives. You can use this for your honey do beauty tips for months to come.

Hello! thank you for your great news on Beauty Tips. I am hooked. I was hoping to ask if you have ever done a comparison of exfoliators/skin cleaning tools such as Clarisonic (Sephora), Youthful Essence (Susan Lucci), and the new Galvanic Sp II System by NuSkin? I just purchased the Clarisonic but I have normal to dry skin and the reviews on Sephora seem to be geared toward acne prone skin. My biggest concern is anti aging because I am 49 yrs old. I have also tried the Susan Lucci Youthful Essence, which I absolutely loved but had to stop the regular shipments due to the economy. I want to get the best bang for my buck…any advice?
Hi - thanks for your kind words. We have not done an extensive study of exfoliators, but I think that should be next on the list - please watch you email in the coming weeks to see what we learn. I can say that the Clarisonic, while the marketing is geared toward acne, seems to be most effective at simple exfoliation and alleviating mild breakouts rather than dealing with severe acne (of course, remember not to exfoliate more than twice a week or you can actually give yourself some serious chronic skin problems). When it comes to anti-aging, I’m sure you know that prevention is the best option (and the cheapest!). I really like the daily toners like Awake that you can throw in your desk drawer or bag, and the “Hope in a Jar” line is reasonably affordable and lasts a long time. And of course, there is always Olay, but if you don’t have a lot of damage yet then those products can actually make you break out, so if you can get them at a bargain the first time that’s the best way to try them. Recently, I’ve been using part of the Wexler line for eye repair (available at Bath & Body Works or much cheaper on Amazon and I really like it for dealing with new lines - I’ve got some faint ones in my forehead and one forming just above my mouth, and this stuff really seems to slow them down
Only apply to the eye area and other wrinkles or lines, however. I put it on my whole face and broke out in areas that were still unlined. Now I combine it with other moisturizers and it seems to be doing the trick. Thanks so much for your comment, and we’ll get right to work on the exfoliation experiment! ~Carrie
