Acne skin care can be complicated. The things that are good for your skin when you do not have a breakout can be the very things that exacerbate an existing batch of pimples. In addition, if you have acne you probably want to cover it up, but normal cosmetics are frequently the worst thing possible that you can put on your face while suffering from an acne attack. Even if you no longer have breakouts, if you had acne as a teen or an adult you may still have the scars from it. These can be hard to camouflage and may take years to fade.
There are some common skin care habits that you may have that may be making your acne worse. Here are some tips and tricks to alleviate or even eliminate acne breakouts and scars:
• Use mineral foundations and makeup on affected areas
When you are having a breakout, you will definitely want to cover them up. However, slathering on the foundation and concealer can clog pores further and cause infections. Use mineral makeup that contains only natural minerals and no artificial dyes, fragrances or oils so that you do not make the problem worse. Some mineral makeup products actually have been known to clear up acne breakouts faster because they are anti-inflammatory and so good for sensitive skin.
• Stick with natural acne skin care
Use all natural products, and look for items that contain peppermint extracts to dry up the outbreak without drying out your skin. Green tea extracts are also good for acne problems. A good natural remedy is to make a paste of baking soda and cool water. Apply it to your face for about 15 minutes then pat it off with a moist cloth. Follow up with an all natural, oil-free moisturizer. In as little as 72 hours, your skin should feel smoother and your breakouts should diminish dramatically.
• Exfoliate regularly
Acne scars are formed when infected pores become pustules and create craters in your skin. These craters become acne scars once the outbreak fades. While you must be careful how often you exfoliate to prevent further outbreaks and even development of other problematic skin conditions, regular, gentle exfoliation will diminish the appearance of acne scars. Use an all-natural exfoliate that contains beads or microbeads rather than grainy abrasives (sugar scrubs are out!). Do not exfoliate more than twice a week. This will diminish the appearance of acne scarring because it will smooth out the skin around the scars.
• Take vitamin E
Vitamin E oil applied topically or taken orally will help your skin repair itself. This will decrease the likelihood of scars and also help your skin restore its own natural luster after an outbreak of acne.
Acne skin care is always a sensitive process and you should monitor your skin’s personal response to treatments carefully. With careful observation you will be able to develop an acne skin care regimen that is ideal for you.

I came across this blog - interesting read
This was a great article. I also use B5 vitamins to maintain my acne and I rarely eat starches like bread, pasta, rice or potatoes…
Riversol is a new skincare regime that was developed by a dermatologist in Vancouver, BC. Dr. Jason Rivers and his product line called Riversol is definitely worth trying! I’ve used everything on my dry skin to help hydrate but nothing holds the moisture like these products. You can buy it on-line or thru doctors and high end retail outlets.

Nicotinamide (also known as Niacinamide) applied topically, is beneficial for reducing Acne, Skin hyper-pigmentation (acne scars), increasing skin moisture and reducing fine wrinkles. Scientists at NY University College of Medicine have shown that Niacinamide is superior to antibiotics such as Clindamycin in controlling acne. Try “Niapads” (it contains Niacinamide) for controlling your acne. One step process provides exfoliation, pore cleansing, prevention of Acne and Skin Lightening (acne scars).
This sounds like a very interesting new product! We will send this information to our research and writing team for a full investigation. Thank you for the information!
How fortunate we all are to now have a clear-cut explanation of this issue that we can share with our friends and family members.
